The very first hardscape project I ever worked on was located in Glencoe. It was 1990 and I was 15 years old. My father was in charge I was simply a wheel barrow operator. We were redoing the retaining walls that surround the Glencoe Metra station on Greenbay Road. If you drive by today, nearly 30 years later you can see that the walls may need replacements within a few years.
Brick Walkways – Brick Patios – Brick Driveways
After year of installing retaining walls, patio, driveways you start to feel a connection to certain town for various reasons. My father and I started the company the company as a team and even though he is no longer with us, the legacy he created still lives on.
Those that have the opportunity to visit Glencoe describe it as a quaint community far removed from the hustle and bustle of the big city. The Frank Lloyd Wright homes make it feel like a sort of architectural museum that you can drive through. When I visit Glencoe its a flashback to my early years of hardscaping.
