We constructed this Rough Sawn Cedar Pergola over an existing brick paver patio located in Highland Park. The patio was constructed by us the previous year using Unilock Beacon Hill pavers with a Townhall solder course border.
This customer wanted to make this space a focal point for their outdoor living space. Like many she wanted a place to hang some Italian lights with the goal of making this a cozy spot to sit for nice evening conversation.
When your in a pinch go solar
She did not want to go through the hassle of installing an electrical line so she opted for some solar powered Italian lights. My initial thought was that the solar lights would provide a weak illumination that would not be worth it. Well, we installed those for her and she has nothing but nice things to say about them.
She was not sure if the whole solar thing would be sufficient so she only bought one small strand. Now that she is please with the level of illumination she will be buying additional strands.
I will make it a point to stop by and get a picture of these lights at dusk. This way you can be the judge.
Improving Highland Park homes
Sure a brick paver patio may look nice and bring life to your backyard, but it does not end there. Adding some landscaping and appealing outdoor decor along with some nice complementary furniture can make a world of difference. The nice thing about adding wooden structures to your Outdoor Living Space is that they add depth to your space. They create a very nice focal point, not to mention a great place to hang plants.
