Grayslake Outdoor Living Space Using Brussels Block Brick Pavers
This brick paver (brussels Block) is by far the most timeless paver of all provided by Unilock. Paver styles, shapes and colors come and go. The Brussels Block brick paver however, has stood the test of time. Just as trends do, they come and go, but this paver always remains. This customer in Graylake chose to use this paver because it was a good all around fit for the look she was trying to acheive.
This patio was constructed the wonderful town of Grayslake, IL.
When designing your brick patio be sure to try and keep it above 500 square feet or above so it gives you the opportunity to create different spaces within a patio. Here you can see we created a lounging or entertaining area. We used Unilock Estate Wall block at the corners to create sitting walls. However the customer is using them not for sitting, but to define the space and keep her plants safe.
Minimalist Garden Beds
By turning a larger XL sized Brussel Block brick paver on its side we were able to create a subtle garden bed that takes up minimal space. You can’t see it but this garden bed supports the paver patio edge. Because of that it has a mortar haunch installed behind the pavers for added structural integrity. We knew the garden would get much use so we needed something to last.
Taking In The Sun
The customer wanted to have a space were she can read while taking in the sun so on the opposite end she has just that. The main patio area has a very basic shape but as you can see it works well. It also flows to the side of the hose where she has a separate dining and kitchen area.
Dining and Cooking Area
Here is a picture of the separate dining and kitchen area. There is a small walkway from the patio that lead you here. You can’t see it but off to the right are the grills. She wanted to have her cooking are next to the side door for easy access.
